So the last two days, the outside temperature gauge in my car has shown that it's been 101 degrees. Really?? Today marks the first "official" day of summer and we already have triple digit temperatures? Holy cow!!! What's it going to be like by the middle of July??!!
We're are starting our busy part of summer this week. We head out this morning for church camp for the week. Did I mention that it's 101 degrees outside??!! We have a group of 31 going to camp this year. We're all excited, and I HOPE we have everything packed!!! (it's midnight as I write this & I don't plan on packing another thing!!)
We will get back from camp on Thursday, I have to work Friday, Saturday & Sunday, wash clothes and pack again to leave for SOAR 2010 on Monday morning. We are taking 22 youth & sponsors to Dallas for our SOAR conference. We're looking forward to that as well! It's a busy couple of weeks for us, but we are ready to spend that time with ALL our kids! Both camp & SOAR are wonderful times of worship and learning about God, and it is such a blessing to see our kids loving and worshipping God, and having a great time without all the pressures and influences from worldly things that surround them in their daily lives. And yes, that was a terribly long run-on sentence, but remember it's midnight, and I've got packing on my brain! I'm hoping I packed my toothbrush!
I have much to blog about, and I'll eventually get to it. We've made it through graduations (yes, I cried!) and birthdays, a dance recital & an athletic banquet, other end of school banquets for some of our other kids, senior Sunday (yes, I cried!), and are now enjoying having the kids out of school. I have even let MIchael, Brayden & a couple of my other kids highlight my hair!!!
Kaylee just got back from GMA camp and had a great time. Brayden has been working out at the high school almost every morning, if not twice a day. He's getting prepared for football season, and can't wait for it to start!
I'll catch you up with pictures and such after our trips. Pray for us over the next two weeks as we travel and spend time with our kids. These trips are always special times with our 'other kids,' which also happens to include our own kids too! You can keep up with our travels at http://www.landmarkengland.com if you'd like.
Considering I have to be at the church in 7 hours, and won't get much sleep because of those fun, late nights we'll have the next 2 weeks, I probably should catch a few zzz's while I can!! Did I mention that it's 101 degrees and we're going to church camp???!!! Who's idea was this anyway!???! Have a great week, friends!
Until next time....
